Aurora
Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. The name she is most commonly used for her professional work is Aurora and often stylized with lowercase letters, such as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th of 2015 and was praised by musicians and music blogs and the press. The singer has released a number of high-profile cover songs, like Half the World Away (by the group Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) that have been widely praised. It was further recognized through a tweet from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed the track Runaway. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical experiences include discovering an instrument hidden in her attic and getting enthralled by the sounds it produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged her to learn music, not for the purpose of a career or as a hobby, but rather in order to grow. She started writing lyrics of her own. Alongside Bjork, she cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. When she was told by her mother that her songs would assist her in gaining popularity, but also help everyone else see their value within the global community and see how they can benefit from her songs, she opted to perform in public. In the age of 6, she began to play on the piano. When she turned nine began writing her own songs. Her family didn't know that she had begun until fourteen. Aurora wasn't a dream. As she says, she just likes to write songs. For her, music is an ideal method of feeling everything.
